Published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the study registered around 12,000 patients aged 70 or above with no prior history of atrial fibrillation (AF). About half were monitored for 14 days, while others received regular care. After 15 months of follow-up, AF diagnoses increased by 52% among device users compared to those under standard care.
