There are no assigned seats on Southwest Airlines; instead, customers choose their seats once they board. Southwest Airlines Seat Selection Policy to increase flexibility, the airline offers EarlyBird Check-In, which is now free and automatically checks in passengers 36 hours prior to departure, improving their boarding position. They also have a reserved seating option that lets customers choose and pay for a specific seat in advance. The boarding process is still divided into groups (A, B, and C), with passengers boarding in the order that they are assigned. These changes do not affect the fundamental open seating policy of Southwest Airlines, which allows passengers to choose or switch seats based on availability after boarding.
