Carpal Tunnel Syndrome symptoms can range from mild discomfort to severe pain and numbness. This condition affects the hand and wrist and is caused by compression of the median nerve as it passes through the carpal tunnel, a narrow passageway in the wrist. Here are the common symptoms:

Numbness and Tingling: One of the hallmark symptoms is numbness and tingling in the thumb, index, middle, and part of the ring finger. This can be intermittent or constant.

Hand Weakness: You may experience weakness in the affected hand, making it challenging to grasp or hold objects.

Pain and Discomfort: Carpal tunnel syndrome often leads to pain, which can radiate from the wrist to the forearm and even the shoulder. The pain may be worse at night.

Difficulty with Fine Motor Skills: You may find it increasingly challenging to perform tasks that require precision and dexterity, like buttoning a shirt or picking up small objects.

Thumb Muscle Atrophy: In severe cases, muscle atrophy at the base of the thumb can occur over time.

Symptoms May Extend: In some instances, symptoms can extend beyond the wrist and affect the entire arm.

If you experience any of these carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms, it's essential to seek medical attention. Early diagnosis and treatment can help alleviate symptoms and prevent further nerve damage. Treatments may include wrist splints, physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, or, in severe cases, surgery to release pressure on the median nerve.
